Atypical & Awesome, “This Time Last Week”
We were sipping lattes and having bagels in a streetside cafe in Brooklyn. Coffee in Brooklyn is just a special thing. We had arrived deep in the evening the night before. Right off, we had a true New York experience when our “taxi” driver got in a verbal altercation with a MARTA driver which resulted in a drink being thrown into our cab. Beautiful.
Neptune’s Diner has became one of our favorite regular stops (mainly because it is 24/7 and walking distance from Autumn’s apartment). After we arrived Thursday evening, we bumbled over to Neptune’s. LI ordered the Greek fries but their pancakes are post-worthy. Huge and yum. They also have amazing desserts like for-real NY Cheesecake. Because they know their clientele, doggie bags are “I ❤️NY” bags. Four star worthy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Friday afternoon, we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan. It was picturesque. Next time, we will plan on partaking “NY’s Best Lobster Roll” on the Brooklyn side. We saw it after we had a pizza lunch in Manhattan and rode the ferry back to Brooklyn. We bought souveniors and took selfies and did all the things. But as always, a deeper yearning aches inside me. I am working hard to tap into that and make those things a reality. But for now, I treasure these trips.
