Atypical & Awesome, “The First 48”

It’s Saturday and I am home recovering from surgery. We spent two nights in Birmingham and returned home yesterday afternoon. The surgery was successful but more involved than anticipated so recovery will be a process. However, I felt much better this morning so I am optimistic things will continue to improve over the next few days.

Phillip was a saint and took care of me and my mother graciously took care of things at home for us. Sapphire has been super sweet since we’ve been back and we have had a steady stream of messages and check-ins by friends and family. I am grateful for my “village”. There is talk we might get some snow flurries tomorrow morning so that would be a really sweet “welcome home” gift.

Speaking of snow, we’ve been binge-watching Gilmore Girls since I am bed- bound and down lol Phillip is a true trooper and we have finally made it to the last season. We both agree Lorelei is a trainwreck. Hearing a guy’s perspective of the plot is amusing.
