Atypical& Awesome, “25 and a Slight Case of Dyslexia”

Yesterday was my birthday and my spirits were better than they usually are on my birthday. Most birthday’s- through no one’s fault- find me depressed and dejected despite my best efforts to put on a happy face. But yesterday was a little different, I felt truly happy and at peace for most of the day so I consider that a win. A big one.

Phillip adequately spoiled me. We went to a nice birthday brunch, he gave me beautiful flowers, and he let me eat snacks and binge-watch Gilmore Girls in peace. I heard from the kids, my parents, and my siblings, in-laws, niece and nephews so my heart was full. We ended the day with a family dinner of lasagna and cake and ice cream. It was a sweet day.

I am feeling a little more optimistic about the year ahead. Mainly, I’m just grateful to see this birthday. Every birthday is a gift and I ‘m holding on to these days with dear life. I an grateful. Life is good.
