Atypical & Awesome, “I Smell Snow”
As I am home recovering from a “harder than expected” surgery a strange anomaly occurred- it snowed-in south Alabama, for a few hours, on a Sunday morning. There is zero sign it ever happened but it did. I have pictures and video. This also occurred last year- but on a much larger scale. It was a once in a lifetime occurrence of nearly a foot of snow on this area and I still can’t believe we experienced that- even though I spent hours out in it and took countless videos and pictures. But this year’s snow felt more like a God wink. A little after-sugery kiss of peace and beauty. Thank you.
Now this is where it gets funny or perhaps, ironic. I have been binge-watching Gilmore Girls since the fall. I am down to six episodes of the 153 that aired in the original run. It has been incredibly healing for me in so many ways. But I purposely timed it so I would finish the series be able to rewatch a few of my favorite episodes during my recovery this week. The fact it literally snowed Sunday is such a sweet “extra” and so fitting for my Gilmore Girls week.
Sometimes you have to find healing wherever you can and I am so grateful for my family, candles, coffee, Sapphire, heated blankets, random snowfalls, and binge watching Luke and Loralei. Will they or won’t they? Guess I will find out soon :)
