Atypical & Awesome, “Simply Magical- Part 1”

2025 did not disappoint. We had a beautiful Christmas filled with lots of family time. We were able to see and hear from all the kids and our hearts are full. In addition, we received encouraging news and are hopeful for positive changes within our family in the new year.

Phillip and I both worked the Friday after Christmas and then started a much needed vacation/adventure. Sunday we loaded up early and headed to Nashville. It was Phillip’s birthday so we spent the day celebrating him and introducing Reagan to lower Broadway. Neon, hats, cowboy boots, and very loud country music gave her a taste of the touristy side of Nashville. We did catch a nice lowkey singer-songwriter, Ajaye at the Nashville airport which was more my speed. We had breakfast at Blake Shelton’s, Ol Red and then boarded the plane for NYC.

Night one in NYC was Times Square, Juniors (the best potato pancake ever), and lines everywhere. It was bitterly cold but we did make it to Krispy Kreme for the commemorative Big Apple doughnut. My nephew Dane insisted I get it as a birthday gift from him so I did. We have lots more to share so check back. This will have several parts throughout today and tomorrow! Happy New Year’s Eve!
