Atypical & Awesome, “All the Feels”

It’s Christmas Eve- my favorite day of the year. The weather is “Alabama Christmas” perfect- overcast but not cold and we aren’t sweltering. On the mantle, the ”Cider and Sweaters” candle is lit and fills the house with cinnamon and cloves. Our Christmas tree’s multi- colored lights give the retro Christmas vibe I love. The star looks exactly like one I remember from the 70’s and it makes me smile. Our ornaments are mementos from various trips and stages in life. I wouldn’t trade our “scrapbook tree” for anything. There is a wonderful calm peace.

We’ve already had lots of family time with more to come. Special lunches, brunches, brinners and more. Autumn is here from NYC and everyone will be filtering in over today and tomorrow. We have a big, boisterous family and when we are all together there is a sense of organized chaos. It’s really a blessing.
