Atypical & Awesome, “Family Brings Us Home- Home Makes Us Family”

The curtain has closed on, “Coming Home” (2025) at Southern Broadway. The show was special in so many ways. It was a shared experience for Phillip and myself and my heart is full from watching him grow and excel in his first theatre performance. It was my first show with Southern Broadway and first dinner theatre production. It was also the longest run I have had with a show with seventeen performances!

The cast. Oh my. I truly love each and every member that made this special group. We had diverse ages and backgrounds and somehow it all worked. We laughed and cried together. Mostly laughed! I will treasure those sweet memories. Every cast and every show is different but I do think this one was really special.

If you were not able to make a show, I’m truly sorry. It sold out almost immediately which is a testament to Southern Broadway and Ms. Lydia Dillingham’s vision of the need for such an experience in this area. Folks crave positive, quality entertainment and I am honored to have been a part of this experience.

Finally, thank you to Caleb and Syndney Brooks for their guidance, direction, and crisis management over all the “little things” and big things that need to happen to make a shown run smoothly. Chef Monica and the kitchen staff ensured the guests had a pleasant dining experience nightly and treated each seating like the first time. Southern Broadway is a gem. We look forward to being on stage as well as patrons again soon.

Merry Christmas to our new extended “family”!
