Atypical & Awesome, “Brake Nights”
In times of chaos and busyness, I carve out times to just stop. Hit the brakes (slam on brakes) and just stop. Last night was one of those times. I was mostly alone (the 16 year old was hanging in her room) and Phillip was out of town. So, it was the Siamese and me. It was rainy so I lit two of my new candles and made Ramen and egg rolls. I did a little work and felt quite accomplished. Then, I chilled. Chai latte and mindless tv with a little gaming on my phone was the perfect level of nothingness. I washed the dishes and took a hot shower and used the Strawberry Poundcake body wash. I put on my favorite Halloween pajamas a little seasonably early (I’m not sure if seasonable is a word but it should be). It was ALL the things and it was glorious.
Tonight is the night before back to school and we have our trip to NYC in two days. It will be full throttle. I am grateful for those moments in time when all the world is right. Nothing big and spectacular just peace. We have a lot of fun coming up and I am excited but never underestimate the power of Ramen, a rainy night, and “Everybody Loves Raymond” (the one where they go to Italy). 10/10 recommend.
