Atypical & Awesome, “Adapt, Adjust, and Do the Things”
Well, unfortunately, the Stevie Nicks concert has been postponed until November. To soothe our hearts, we went out to one of our favorite Chinese buffets Friday night. Egg drop soup and cream cheese wontons help most things. We had decided to just cancel the trip. But, after we looked at it from all angles we decided to go anyway. So, this motivated me to look for a comedy open-mic so we could get some stage time while in New York.
After some looking, we found a couple to investigate. As it stands, we are booked for an open-mic Saturday at the Grisly Pear in Midtown!!! We are so excited now! We have some prep to do and we are looking forward to writing and working in material today. Adjust and adapt-always.
We had a super busy but mostly fun Saturday, yesterday. I started the day with doing ten miles on the recumbent bike. For the first time in YEARS, I treated myself to a much needed pedicure from Rituals Day Spa. For a quick lunch, we had amazing Maui Maui Chicken Salad from Chicken Salad Chick. Seriously, I highly recommend this one. Then, we loaded up and took the 16 year old back to school shopping in Dothan.
The mall was actually bustling yesterday which was a strange phenomenon because it has been a ghost town lately. But it was a nice for a moment-a little 90’s throwback- sorta. We did all the things- lots of shopping, Icees, pretzels, new shoes, and fabulous Mexican food at Taco Way in Enterprise to end the day.
The sands in the hourglass are gonna fall whether we are home or gone so we are trying to live as much as we can while we can. Enjoy life in whatever way feeds your soul.
