Atypical & Awesome, “Yay, Me”

Friday, I completed two years of post-LMSW supervision and am now preparing to test for my LICSW. What this means is I will be board approved to practice independently should I choose to do so. This has been a lifelong journey complete with many detours and side quests. Even as a writer, I struggle to find the words to express what this means to me.

Thank you to Amanda Lewis, PhD- a coworker from what feels like a lifetime ago who stepped up to supervise me during this process. I will miss our biweekly talks- I think a lot of healing and clarity went on during those times. I am leaving supervision with a much clearer understanding of the type of clinician I am to be and how better to make all the pieces fit.

I am humbled by the support I have received Phillip, my parents, sisters, kids, nieces and nephews and our extended family have been cheerleaders. Yay, me- not only for completing this big step but for having wonderful people in my life.
