Atypical & Awesome, “It’s All About the Food- Disney Style”

I think we were just as excited planning our Disney eats as anything. Autumn, Alex, and I came armed with a list of treats and eats we wanted to scope out.I think we were pretty successful. I will highlight some of my finds.

In the blue ribbon category- meaning the best of the best and the ones that I will definitely have again is the Fish n Chips from the UK in EPCOT. We dined waterside and Quinn had a great time watching the birds. This was probably our best food experience the whole trip. I will also give a blue ribbon to Sweet Willie Candied popcorn from the Main Street Confectionary in Magic Kingdom. Don’t look at the price- just get it and thank me later- it’s fabulous.

The red ribbon category would be those i consider either better than expected or great but not fabulous. Better than “good enough” and I would probably seek them out again. First up, the Cheshire Cat Tails from Cheshire Cat Cafe in MK- pleasantly surprised. It almost made the blue ribbon category. Corn dogs and homemade chips from Sleepy Hollow in MK- again, almost a blue ribbon especially since we were able to nab a table and chairs before the afternoon parade. Also in this category is the Woody’s Round Em Up Latte in HS and the Carrot Cake Ice Cream Sundae in AK. All in all- respectable choices I would likely get again.

Another positive experience was our dinner at Chefs de France. I came with low expectations but everyone seemed pleased. My french onion soup and salad were great and our service was attentive. I really cannot complain. I think I may place a blue ribbon on Chefs de France. I was not feeling well at the time so we need a repeat visit to try some of the desserts.

Oh,one more- our Mickey Pretzel at HS which when turned upside down looks like Cinderella’s carriage. Quinn was thrilled to finally get her pretzel after having a consolation churro earlier (which, dipped in chocolate sauce was also fabulous). We also had plenty of cart treats like Mickey ice cream bars and sandwiches, frozen lemonades, popcorn, sugared nuts, and a few counter meals. We are already thinking about our next food missions at the mouse house!
