Atypical & Awesome- “Gratitude and Regrouping”

It has been twenty years since I walked into my first NSAI meeting in Tallahassee. I was scared to death but I knew if I was going to take this songwriting thing seriously, I had to take that big step of getting out of my own world and into the world of networking and learning. Within two years, I became a regional co-coordinator for the Tallahassee chapter. Frequent trips to Nashville became a part of my life and writing daily was my standard.

I lost track of how many songs I’ve written through the years. I have had about thirty recorded by various artists. Some have been performed on legendary stages such as the Bluebird in Nashville or over the airwaves of the BBC. I am grateful for every opportunity. I will highlight some of those special memories in coming weeks.

I appreciate any and all support, I have been given over the years. Songwriters rarely get the spotlight and it seems things are getting harder day to day with AI adding congestion to the creative fields. I am in a regrouping and reflecting phase but the well is full and I am ready to write.

If you feel led to support me on this topsy-turvy journey here is a link: https://cash.app/$carmenmbennett. Thank you and as always- stay tuned.

*the picture makes me laugh- I mean, I do need three hands but AI for anything other than giggles right now is pretty scary- I prefer organic creativity devised from life, heartbreak, and experiences…. in other words- humanity
