Atypical & Awesome, “Gratitude”

Each morning I say a prayer of gratitude. I have found the more i express gratitude the more things I have to show gratitude for- it’s an interesting phenomenon.

We had a long, short week. On top of a few crazy days at the day gig, I also had an audition Wednesday evening. started guitar lessons back on Saturday (after several years hiatus), and Crews announced his album release date of October 16. Working on the musical is a priority so I have put more work into writing this week and have a preliminary outline- it’s gonna be a doozy.

Phillip brought me roses, I made homemade enchiladas, and we watched the live action, “Lilo and Stitch” Friday night. Saturday, i went to our local farmer’s market and grabbed a few veggies for soup, a gorgeous bouquet of fresh-cut flowers, and apple walnut bread. I stopped by a Boy Scout fundraiser sale tent and picked up popcorn and hot chocolate.

My instructor and I had a great restart guitar lesson and then came home and put soup fixings in the crock pot and boiled peanuts on the stove. Reagan tended the fort while Phillip and I went to the state line for lottery tickets and ice cream. Once home again, it was football time. I ended up with a headache so I showered and turned in early. But, rest assured I could hear what all was going on even in the bedroom- lol!

But I am grateful. I’m grateful when I have a headache, I have medication, a hot shower, and a comfortable bed. I’m grateful for peach ice cream cones and pretty flowers to make me smile. I’m grateful for a husband who is my safe space. I have much more I will say another time. But I’m blessed. It took some hellfire to get here, but I am grateful. Have a beautiful Sunday.
