Atypical & Awesome, “At Least That is Done”

Yesterday was a long, hard day which started at 4 am. I was on the road by 5 am and took the trek to Birmingham for my post-surgery flow-up appointment with UAB. The visit itself took only 15 minutes. My pacemaker is working and my surgical scar is healing nicely so I am “done” as far as UAB is concerned so I do not have to go back. All maintenance care will take place with my local cardiologist- so there’s that.

Goodness, yall that was an ordeal. The whole thing. I am ready to get back to our “normal”. Yesterday, I spent about nine hours driving. I used that time to work on my set for tomorrow night’s show (got some good stuff!), devised a plan of what I want to do next as far as songwriting (you won’t want to miss this one), and listened to hours of Stevie Nicks music- both her solo work and Fleetwood Mac. I enjoyed that part of the day for sure. I also took myself to lunch and then spent time stretched out in bed once I got home. Gracious, I did not realize how bad sitting in a car all day hurts. Thank God for heated seats! So, now I am ready to put this all behind me (except for the fun stuff and cool plans) and look forward to much better days ahead. Done!
