Atypical & Awesome, “A Week of Emotions”
Saturday, Oct.11 is where today’s blog will start. It was a day of celebrating life. First, with saying goodbye to a friend’s father and then later with dinner to celebrate another friend’s birthday. The next day, Phillip and I left for our annual trip to the beach with his siblings. I had planned to come home Tuesday to take care of some things at home and then return on Friday for a few final days at the beach. But, as they say- life had other plans.
It was a week of joy- celebrating friends and family. Crews’s album release. What a thrill to see “Big Deal” performed at my former high school during Homecoming Week. Angela’s birthday celebration- meeting lots of new friends, good food, and a gorgeous cake. The beach with the Bennett gang. The weather was gorgeous and fresh seafood and salt water is good for the soul.
Then, there was the tough stuff. Loss, grief, frustration, anger. Tears. We have a few “rough spots” to get through over the next few weeks. But we will. We are adapters and we’ll reset, refocus, and move forward. It’s what we do best.
All the emotions. We are home, safe, and ready to watch some Alabama football. I have coffee and Sapphire. We have love and faith. All will be well.
