Atypical & Awesome, “Taste of Fall”
I’m sipping smoked butterscotch coffee in one of my favorite fall mugs (gifted by a friend) with the intention of telling you all about some of our recent adventures. However, let me sidestep first. It should come as no surprise that Autumn is my favorite season- I even named by first-born after this magical time.
Recently, I discovered something I should have discovered years ago. Gilmore Girls. I’m addicted. Seriously. Never has a show been more “me”. It is completely “autumn” in every sense. Last night, I saw an episode where Carole King guest starred. I cried and died a little. I freaked the first time I heard the theme song. Carole King. Fall. Mom/daughter bonding- how did I miss this for so long? I know how given what was going on in my life during its heyday but gracious, I am sooo glad to have it now. I am even making Phillip go with me to a Gilmore Girls “crawl” in October (he can’t wait-lol)- more details to follow. Who knew lighting a new apple bourbon candle, popping popcorn and binge watching Gilmore Girls could be so healing? Sigh.
In other news, Phillip and I attended the Taste of Coffee County on Tuesday night and it was spectacular. Over twenty local restaurants and vendors passed out samples. We bought three tickets and brought Reagan home her plates. i have made four meals out of our take-out from this event. 5 out of 5 stars! Plus, it was for a great cause- you can’t beat that with a canolli!
Wherever you are, I hope you find things that make you smile this week- be it a forgotten heart-warming show, a new seasonal candle, or a tiny cupcake- life is short- live it.
